The GE Healthcare Immersion Program brings healthcare professionals to other hospital sites to follow and learn from the hosting site’s experience.

Introduction

Computed Tomography (CT) is a technology that uses computer-processed x-rays to produce tomographic images of specific areas, allowing the user to see what is inside the body non-interventionally. Its cross- sectional images are used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in various medical disciplines. To obtain the best possible image quality and understanding, GE uses consultant radiologists to provide training on GE Computed Tomography scanners.

CT for Radiologists - At Customer Site

Computed Tomography (CT) Immersion Course for Radiologists (At Customer Site)

Overview

This course is targeted at Radiologists and can be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

The course covers case-based reviews on General Brain Imaging, Perfusion and Abdominal Imaging as well as the potential difficulties faced with the case review.

Various scanning protocols and report writing will also be discussed during this training program.

Duration

Choose from a 2 or 3 day session where the training will be conducted at the customer site.

Clinical Areas Covered

Areas covered include brain and abdomen. The 3-day will include a more in-depth review of the 2 areas.

CT for Radiologists - At Host Site

Computed Tomography (CT) Immersion Course for Radiologists (At Host site)

Overview

This course is targeted at Radiologists. Depending on location, it can be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, or English.

The course covers case-based review for differing disease referrals and low dose scanning techniques for all regions. The course is designed to be specific to GE CT equipment. Depending on the class size, GE Advantage Workstations may have to be shared amongst participants.

Duration

Choose from a 2 or 3 day session to acquire experience on cases across Neuroradiology, Orthopedic Radiology, Abdominal Radiology and Vascular Radiology using the latest techniques on Computed Tomography Imaging. Courses are carried out by accredited radiologists in an environment using hands-on GE Advantage Workstations and reporting tools.

The 3-day session will include Cardiac Imaging.

Clinical Areas Covered

Neuroradiology CT: Case-based review on General Brain Imaging; Cranial CT Angiogram, CT Venogram Imaging and CT Head Perfusion Imaging; Hands-on post processing workshop with GE Advantage Workstation. Evaluation of Perfusion images using Brain Perfusion software, Post Processing of CT Venogram and Circle of Willis studies using Volume Rendering, MIP and other advanced post processing tools with Clinical Reporting of image data sets.

Thoracic/Lung Imaging CT: Case-based review on CT Thoracic and Lung Imaging; Hands-on post processing workshop with GE Advantage Workstation. Evaluation of Emphysema and detection of nodules using Volume Computed Assisted Reading (VCAR) software.

Body Imaging CT: Case-based review on CT Abdomen and Pelvis, Abdominal CTA Imaging and CT Colonoscopy imaging; Hands-on post processing workshop with GE Advantage Workstation.

Musculoskeletal Imaging: Case-based review on Musculoskeletal Imaging; Hands-on post processing workshop with GE Advantage Workstation.

For the 3-day course, Cardiac Imaging will be included.

Cardiac Imaging: Case-based review on CT Angiogram Cardiac Imaging. Hands-on post processing workshop with GE Advantage Workstation. Evaluation of Cardiac Angiography images using the latest Cardiac Evaluation Software, Cardiac Function evaluating ejection fraction, Wall motion.

CT for Radiographers - At Host Site

Computed Tomography (CT) Immersion Course for Radiographers (At Host Site)

Overview

This course is targeted at Radiographers. Depending on location, it can be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia or English.

The course covers patient preparation and positioning; accessories; scanning protocol; protocol management; image reconstruction; contrast maximization; and image quality and dose.

Artifact minimization for sequences and tissue contrast maximization are discussed during this session.

Duration

Choose from a 4 or 5 day session to acquire experience on scanning with a GE CT Scan system. The 5-day Session will include Cardiac Imaging.

Scan Areas Covered

CT Vascular: Optimization of Vascular scanning and post processing techniques for each anatomical region examination; Advanced Analysis with software tools; Advanced 3D vascular modeling; Detailed review of AVA; Autobone; 3D Segmentation tools: Vascular Reporting tools; Vascular Clinical Case Review.

CT Neuro: Perfusion and Neurovascular scanning workflow in the CT setting; Preparation of the patient and pre-scan set-up; Acquisition parameters for Circle of Willis; CT Venogram and CT perfusion on the Brain; Contrast injection parameters for the above acquisition protocols; and the clinical arguments behind Brain Perfusion and Neurovascular imaging.

CT Abdomen and Colonography: Scanning and post processing on CT Abdomen and Pelvis; Abdominal CTA Imaging and CT Colonoscopy imaging, including patient preparation; Recommended Colon acquisition protocols; Colon scanning and post processing technique; advanced analysis with CTC, ColonVCAR; Electronic Cleansing; Polyp detection and measurement; Dissections View; and 3D Flythrough view.

CT Thorax/Lung Imaging: Scanning and post processing on CT Thorax and Lung imaging; Evaluation of Emphysema and detection of nodules using Volume Computed Assisted Reading (VCAR) software

For the 5-day course, Cardiac Imaging will be included.

CT Cardiac: Cardiac scanning workflow in the CT setting. Preparation of the patient and pre-scan set-up; Acquisition parameters for both Calcium Scoring and Angiography; Contrast injection parameters; Impact of variable heart-rate on the acquisition parameters; the clinical arguments behind non- invasive Cardiac Imaging.
